Homeowners Association Referred to AG
A homeowners association is referred by the DNR to the State Attorney General after violations of Missouri’s clean water laws.
Attorney General Chris Koster announced last week that the Shamrock Point homeowners association is violating state clean water laws at their wastewater treatment facility off of lake road 5-48 in Sunrise Beach. The Shamrock Point subdivision, which consists of three homes, currently has an extended aeration waste water treatment unit with seasonal chlorination. Staff from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources inspected the facility in October of 2009 and again this past April. According to DNR staff there is no permit to install a dechlorination or ammonia removal units. The Shamrock Point homeowners association had said those units would be in place on May 1st of 2009. Attorney General Chris Koster also filed suit for a lack of a proper flow measuring device and no marked outfall at the Shamrock Point facility.
