An unnamed 31-year old Hannibal man is facing auto theft and assault charges after taking a Suburban from Fran’s Philips 66 near Home Depot. 

Just before 1:30 this afternoon Osage Beach Police were called after a 1994 black Suburban was stolen from the business.  The Suburban belonged to the owner.

The owner’s son tried to stop the vehicle from being stolen while it was still in the parking lot and the suspect hit him with the Suburban, knocking him to the ground.  He was uninjured.

The Suburban then headed west on Highway 54 until it was stopped at the 900 block of Highway 54 in Camdenton by the Camdenton Police.

The man was taken into custody and is being charged with vehicular assault and theft of the vehicle.  The Hannibal 31-year old is being held in the Camden County Jail.
