Independent Certified for 115th Race

Six independents’ names will be an option in November in several Missouri races.

On Tuesday Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan certified the 2010 August primary results and certified six names to appear on the November ballot.

Locally, Randy Dinwiddie has been certified for the 115th District Representative race.  He will appear as an independent facing incumbent Republican Rodney Schad.

Yolanda Austin will appear for the 69th District race, Charles Smith for the 90th District, Steven Reed for the 138th and Michael Chapman for the 143rd.

Larry Bill has also been certified as an independent for the 8th District U.S. Congressional race. Jo Ann Emerson is the incumbent from Cape Girardeau.

To be certified by the secretary of state, candidates had to turn in valid signatures of registered voters in the district equal to at least two percent of the total number of votes cast in the last election in that district.
