Road Work for the Week

Here's a check of the road work for the week of August 30th to September 3rd.

In Morgan County on Route 5 between Route 52 and the Moniteau County line, roadway patching and repair will take place Thursday.  One lane will be open.  On Route N between Route 52 and Route BB, roadway patching and repair will take place today and tomorrow.  One lane will be open.  On Route K at Route E, roadway patching and repair will take place Wednesday.  One lane will be open.  And on Route BB between Route N and Route D, roadway patching and repair will take place Wednesday and Thursday.  One lane will be open.

In Camden County on Route 54 at the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach, there will be a routine bridge inspection this week. One westbound lane will be open.  On Route 5 between Route 7 and the Morgan County line, roadway maintenance will take place on Tuesday, one lane will be open.  On Route 7 between Route 5 and the Laclede County line, roadway patching and repair will take place Thursday, one lane will be open.  On Route A between Route 54 and the Pulaski County line, roadway patching and repair will take place Thursday, one lane will be open.  On Route N between Route 54 and end of state maintenance, a culvert pipe replacement will take place Wednesday.  One lane will be open.  On Route NN between Route 7 and end of state maintenance, a culvert pipe replacement will take place Thursday, September 2.  One lane will be open.

On the western half of the new expressway grading continues from Nichols Road to Route KK, El Terra Lane is closed and motorists should use Swiss Village Road for access. Drainage, erosion control and grading takes place from Route KK to Key Largo. Concrete work continues for the new Route KK roundabout.  No traffic delays can be expected.  This western half of the expressway is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.

On the eastern half of the new expressway grading, drainage and asphalt work continues for the Osage Beach Parkway South southern tie-in to the existing Route 54. Traffic on Bluff Road is being detoured to Route 54 through Osage Beach Parkway South and Fort Osage Lane to allow for the construction of the new Bluff Road. Detour signs are in place. Traffic delays can be expected as contractor performs work to tie in the Osage Beach Parkway south at the north and south ends.  Westbound Route 54 traffic can expect delays as contractor constructs a ramp to provide access from existing westbound Route 54 onto the westbound Grand Glaize Bridge. The eastern half of the project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2010.

And in Miller County on the far eastern portion of the new 54 expresswa, construction on the Horseshoe Bend Extension overpass bridge has been completed. Installation of guard rail, signing and lighting on the new Route 54 Expressway continues.  Westbound traffic has been reduced to one lane between the Osage River Bridge and Business Route 54 near the Baymont Inn. The speed limit in this section has been reduced to 45 mph. This traffic configuration will remain in place throughout the summer. The far eastern portion of the project is expected to be complete in fall 2010.

On Route 17 at the Osage River Bridge in Tuscumbia the contractor is working to demolish the old bridge.  Traffic will temporarily be stopped on Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. for approximately 15-20 minutes while blasting takes place.  Motorists should seek an alternate route during that time.

And on Route 42 between the Camden County line and the Maries County line, roadway patching and repair will take place Monday through Thursday.  One lane will be open.
