FEMA and SEMA Approve Mitigation Plan

Local government entities will be able to pre-plan for disasters with the announcement that the hazard mitigation plan for Camden County has been approved.

Denise Russell, director of the Camden County Emergency Management Agency, says the final hazard mitigation plan has been approved by SEMA and FEMA pending adoption by local government entities.

The document has been through several years of submissions and fine tuning, starting back when the document was being handled by the Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments.

A copy of the plan will be made available on line at www.camdenmo.org within the next few days.
