Money Available to Improve Missouri Highway Experience
The Missouri Department of Transportation is making federal money available for projects that enhance the state’s transportation experience.
The MoDOT Central District has $2.6 million available for community based projects that enhance travel by improving cultural, historic, aesthetic, and environmental aspects of the state road system.
The $2.6 million cannot be used for highway construction.
Projects have to be construction ready with all final plans, specs, and estimate approvals complete by October 1st of 2011. Plans can include items such as bicycle and pedestrian facilities, streetscape improvements, or crosswalks.
Local non-profits and government agencies have until Thursday, September 30th, to apply for part of the $2.6 million in funding.
