MSWP Investigates Accident That Kills Lee’s Summit Woman

The Missouri State Water Patrol is investigating a docking accident that took the life of a Lee’s Summit woman on Saturday night.

The patrol was called to Toad Cove at the 7 MM at a little after 10:40 Saturday.

According to the report, 52-year old George Constable of Lee's Summit was attempting to back his 29-foot Thunder into a dock slip in idle speed reverse.  Somehow the boat went from idle speed to full throttle, slamming the Thunder into several boats.

Twenty-six-year old Crystal Gudde of Lee's Summit was on the engine hatch, preparing to throw out boat fenders when the Thunder accelerated.  The Lee's Summit woman was fatally injured as the boat careened into other docked boats.  Constable suffered minor injuries.
