Road Work for the Week of September 7th to 10th
With the Labor Day holiday complete, here’s a check of the road work for the week.
In Camden County on Route 54 at the Grand Glaize Bridge, a routine bridge inspection is scheduled for next week. One westbound lane will be open through the work area. On Route 5 between Lake Road 5-33 and Lake Road 5-35, a culvert pipe will be replaced today. One lane will be open. On Route N between Route 54 and end of state maintenance, a culvert pipe will be replaced tomorrow, one lane will be open. On Route NN between Route 7 and end of state maintenance, a culvert pipe will be replaced on Thursday. One lane will be open.
On the western portion of the new 54 Expressway, grading, drainage work and erosion control continues from Nichols Road to Route KK. El Terra Lane is closed to traffic, motorists should use Swiss Village Road for access. Drainage work, erosion control and grading is taking place from Route KK to Key Largo.The western portion of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.
On the eastern portion of the expressway in Camden County, grading, drainage and asphalt work continues for the Osage Beach Parkway South southern tie-in to the existing Route 54. Traffic on Bluff Road is being detoured to Route 54 through Osage Beach Parkway South and Fort Osage Lane to allow for the construction of the new Bluff Road. Detour signs are in place. Traffic delays can be expected as contractor performs work to tie in the Osage Beach Parkway South at the north and south ends. And westbound Route 54 traffic can expect delays as contractor constructs a ramp to provide access from existing westbound Route 54 onto the westbound Grand Glaize Bridge. The eastern portion of the expressway is scheduled to be complete in fall 2010.
And on the Route Z Bridge over Morris Creek, 4 and a half miles north of Route 7, bridge replacement is scheduled to begin next Monday, September 13. The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction. the entire project is scheduled to be complete in late October.
Looking at the road work in Miller County. On the far eastern portion of the new 54 Expressway, installation of guard rail, signing and lighting has been completed. Westbound traffic has been reduced to one lane between the Osage River Bridge and Business 54 near the Baymont Inn. The speed limit in this section has been reduced to 45 mph. This traffic configuration will remain in place throughout the summer. The far eastern portion of the new 54 Expressway is expected to be complete in fall 2010. And on Route 87 between Route 52 and the Moniteau County line, roadway patching and repair will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Looking at the road work in Morgan County, on Route 135 between Route 50 and Route DD, on Route N between Route 52 and Route BB, and on Route T between Route 135 and Route 52, roadway patching and repair will take place today. One lane will be open.
