Eldon Arson Suspect In Custody

A month-long investigation by Eldon Police and the State Fire Marshal’s office, with assistance from the Highway Patrol, has resulted in the arrest of the suspected arsonist, believed to be responsible for a string of fires in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day. 34-year-old Samuel Dykens of Joplin is in police custody, charged with four counts of arson. Dykens is currently being held in the being held in the Jasper County Jail, on a $100,000 bond.
