Chicken Pox Breaks Out in Camdenton R-III School District

Seven confirmed cases of the Chicken Pox have been reported in the Camdenton R-III School District. Camdenton school health services coordinator Sue Blankenship says most of them are at Dogwood Elementary School, on the main campus in Camdenton:

School officials were waiting to hear from the Camden County Health Department whether or not to declare an outbreak:

Bee Dampier at the Camden County Health Department says they’re monitoring the situation:

Dampier says cases of the chicken pox have also been reported in Climax Springs, and in Morgan and LeClede counties:

Dampier recommends parents look at their child’s immunization records and contact their healthcare provider for a vaccine if they don’t have one.
