Chicken Pox “Outbreak” Declared at Camdenton R-III Schools
More cases of chicken pox are showing up at the Camdenton R-III schools, and the Camden County Health Department is now declaring it an “outbreak”:
Camden County Health Department nurse Bee Dampier says the number of confirmed cases has more than doubled over the past week, and the pox is now been reported in all of the schools on the Camdenton campus:
Dampier says parents of students in the Camdenton schol district should check their immunization records, to see if they’ve received TWO shots for chickebn pox:
The State of Missouri mandates children grade three and higher receive two doses of the chicken pox vaccine. Children seventh grade and higher are required to receive one dose. The state health department recommends that all children get two doses.
