UPDATE: Morgan County Couple Now Face 1st Degree Murder Charges

Jamie Litton and her boyfriend Thomas Presley now face First Degree murder charges for the beating death of Litton’s 3-year old son,  Blake.  The pair had been charged with Second Degree murder in the boy’s death last February.  The new charges come with a request for $1 million bond each. Prosecutors allege Presley beating the boy and drove him to see Litton at work,  and Litton didn’t get the toddler medical help.  The couple are accused ‘s of trying to cover up the beating by making it look like the little boy had been struck by a hit and run driver.  The case is set to go to trial next March.  Litton remains in custody in Cole County, while Presley is in the Pettis County jail.
