Fire Fighters Save Home, But Garage Destroyed by Fire

A fire destroys a garage but does not damage a home in Sunrise Beach. Early Sunday morning, Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District crews arrived at Lake Road 547 on Hunter Court and found garage on fire with the flames spreading to the woods. The fire was also threatening a nearby home. Crews were able to cut off the fire before it got to the home or to a nearby propane tank. Fire fighters were also able to stop the spread of the blaze further into the wooded area. No one was injured. The owner of the garage was not home at the time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
