Fire Damages Sunrise Beach Business

No one is injured but a building is damaged after a fire in Sunrise Beach. The Fire Protection District says the blaze broke out Tuesday night at Ship and Shape Fitness in the 17 thousand block of North Highway 5. Crews arrived and found a fire on the second floor balcony. Assisted by Gravois Fire Protection District firefighters and Sunrise Beach Police, the blaze was put out before it could spread to the rest of the building. The balcony suffered heavy damage, but damage to the rest of the business was limited. Officials say the cause of the fire has been determined to be incendiary and is being investigated by the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District Fire Marshall and the State Fire Marshall’s office.
