New Intern Firefighters for Mid-County
Friday, January 11th, 2013
Six Intern Firefighters are now part of the Mid-County Fire Protection District in Camdenton. The interns were sworn in during the district’s board meeting Thursday night. The Phase Three candidates were tested and interviewed at the start of December. The Intern Firefighters are all assigned to a shift which has raised staffing levels to seven firefighters per shift. Over the last 10 months, the district has had over 200 nationwide applicants inquire about the intern program. The Firefighter Intern Program is funded from a SAFER grant by the Department of Homeland Security that was awarded in June 2011 to provide assistance until 2014
