Sheriff Installs Second Drug Dropbox

The Camden County Sheriff’s Department has installed a second drug drop-off box — at the Bank of Urbana near Macks Creek.  The county’s first drug drop box was placed in the lobby of the Sheriff’s office in Camdenton last month, and more than 41 pounds of medication were collected in just the first three weeks.  The drop boxes provide an environmentally safe way to dispose of unwanted and expired medications.  e alternative to disposing medications in landfills and sewer systems that may negatively affect the environment.  Sheriff Dwight Franklin says additional drop-off boxes are planned for other  locations throughout the county.
