Lake Area Schools Continue Updating Security

Lake area schools are working with law enforcement to make security changes to their buildings in an effort to keep everyone there safe.  In Morgan County, Superintendent Joyce Ryerson has met with the school resource officer, the Versailles and Stover Police Departments and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department about security improvements.   In Sunrise Beach, police officers have started daily patrols at the Lake West Christian Academy campus. Sunrise Beach Fire Chief Dennis Reilly has also scheduled emergency protocol drills and training in March for all agencies that would be involved in a school emergency. The School of the Osage board of education is in the process of updating school policies and procedures. They have a school resource officer and regular police patrols on their campus.
