Inmate Death at Miller County Jail Under Investigation

Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott has asked the Highway Patrol to investigate an inmate death at the county jail.  He was found hanging in his cell Monday night.  Jail staff administered CPR until paramedics arrived.  The man was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Columbia.  An autopsy was scheduled to be conducted today.  The sheriff says there was no indication the man needed to be on suicide watch and he was not on any medication. The inmates name has not be released.
