Storm Damage in Morgan County

A winter storm of a different kind does significant damage in the Lake area.  The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department reports straight line winds from severe weather moving through the area Tuesday afternoon are to blame for an estimated $100,000 damage in the Ivy Bend area. Docks were picked up out of a dry cove and blown into Clearwater Road south of  Stover.  The winds also pushed several pontoon boats into a tree line and took down power lines and trees near Franklin Road, also in Stover.  Co-Mo Electric Cooperative reports power was out for 252 residents for about three hours.  A feeder line from an Ivy Bend substation had been damaged by the high winds.  Crews did report having to move trees and docks from the road in order to get to the downed power lines.
