Van Note Murder Suspect Trial Date Set

A suspect in a murder at a home in Sunrise Beach will go on trial later this month. Desre’ Dory of Shawnee, Kansas is charged with second degree murder and forgery in the death of William Van Note in October of 2010. A jury trial will start on Tuesday, February 26th at 9:00 in the morning at the Boone County Courthouse in Columbia. Prosecutors say Dory along with his wife Stacy, allegedly helped Susan Van Note forge a document that removed Susan’s father William from life support. He was taken to aColumbia hospital after being found shot and stabbed in his SunriseBeach home. Desre’ Dory is also set to be in court next Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing.
