UPDATE: Wrong-Way Driver Charged in Camdenton Woman’s Death

A Columbia man  is facing criminal charges in connection with last night’s wrong-way wreck on Highway 54 that left a 19-year-old Camdenton woman dead.  28-year-old Dennis G. Leporin with second-degree murder, second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license, and driving the wrong way on a highway.  Police say Leporin was driving east in the westbound lanes of U.S. 54, when his pickup collided head-on Chelsea Fredrickson’s car near the Missouri 179/Route B interchange in Jefferson City.  Fredrickson was pronounced dead at the scene.  A passenger in her vehicle, Jasper J. Richmond, was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
