Van Note Murder Suspect Due in Court
A suspect in a Sunrise Beach murder case is due to make a court appearance on Monday in Boone County Court. 42-year old Desre Dory of Shawnee, Kansas is charged with second degree murder in the death of William Van Note. Dory is also charged with forgery. Prosecutors say in October of 2010, Van Note was found shot and stabbed in his Sunrise Beach home. He was taken to a Columbia hospital where he died a few days later. Dory, his wife Stacy and Van Note’s daughter Susan, allegedly forged a note that took Van Note off of life support. Dory and his attorney were supposed to be in court last week, but they did not appear. Dory remains free on bond.
