Divers Pull Man’s Body from Lake of the Ozarks
A dive team from the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District has recovered the body of a man who drowned near the Isla del Sol condominiums on the north shore of the Lake of the Ozarks. Assistant Chief Matt Birdsley says divers were dispatched, with the department’s boat, just before noon today. The body was located using the boat’s side-scanning sonar about 30 minutes after divers entered the water. They retrieved the body from the bottom of the lake at 1:26 p.m. The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Timothy Walter of Camdenton. Witnesses saw him go under while he was in the water working around a boat dock and called for help when he failed to surface.
