Federal Help Coming to Miller County
President Barack Obama has approved Governor Nixon’s request for a disaster declaration in Missouri resulting from the week of severe weather that effected residents and businesses alike. Between May 29th and June 10th, severe weather brought straight line winds, tornadoes and prolonged flooding that affected large portions of the state. The federal government approved public assistance for 27 counties including Miller, Maries, Callaway, Webster, Texas, Montgomery and Osage counties in the listening area. The declaration will help communities with rebuilding roads and infrastructure while reimbursing response and recovery costs.
