Van Note Murder Suspect Back in Court
One of the suspects in a murder that happened in Sunrise Beach in 2010 is headed back to court. A status review is set for Monday afternoon in Boone County Court for 43-year old Desre Dory of Shawnee, Kansas. He is charged with second degree murder and forgery in the death of William Van Note. Van Note was found shot and stabbed inside his Sunrise Beach home in October of 2010. He was taken to a Columbia hospital where he later died. Prosecutors allege Dory and his wife Stacy helped Van Note’s daughter Susan Van Note forge a document that took William Van Note off of life support. Stacy Dory is scheduled to go on trial later this year. Susan Van Note’s trial has been delayed until 2014. All three suspects remain free on bond.
