No Wake Zone Near Shoot Out Course This Weekend
The Missouri Highway Patrol is reminding boaters about the no wake zone near the Lake of the Ozarks Shoot Out this weekend. Boats will be restricted to no wake, idle speed from the 31 point five mile mark to the 36 mile mark of the main channel. The restriction will start 30 minutes before and will continue up to 30 minutes after the races on Saturday and Sunday. Boaters wishing to enter or exit coves blocked by the race course will be allowed to do so upon the signal of Missouri State Highway Patrol marine operation troopers, or other authorized event personnel. Anchoring will be allowed in the designated spectator area on the northeast side of the main channel. There will be event volunteers on the water to assist spectators in locating the designated spectator area. Boaters are encouraged to use caution while traveling to and from the Shoot Out, since a large turnout is expected. The Shoot Out will take place from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Sunday.
