Camden County Sheriff still working on Animal Shelter
Like any strong communities having a strong animal shelter for it’s beloved pets is paramount. That is a concern and a plan from Camden county sheriff’s office. Captain Kelly Luttrell says some of the money from the sale of the old Dogwood animal shelter will go into the pot along with possible local fundraising dollars in the future for what is hoped will be a large state of the art animal shelter facility. He says old standards are changing.
The new animal shelter will have strict guidelines from the Missouri department of Agriculture as far as how the facility must be built. Luttrell gives just one example.
Luttrell says other area’s of the state have state of the art facilities and with a steep price.
Luttrell says the bulk of the planning will take place this fall. The county needs time to discuss the budgets to see where the money might come from. he wants the new facility to have all the bells and whistle as well as standing up to the test of time.
