Van Note Pleads Not Guilty to Murder Charges
A woman accused of killing her father and his girlfriend at a home in Sunrise Beach in 2010 is arraigned in Camden County Court. On Friday, Susan Van Note entered a plea of not guilty two counts of first degree murder and one count of forgery. Prosecutors say Van Note shot and stabbed her father William Van Note and Sharon Dickson inside the home in October of 2010. Dickson died at the scene but William survived and was taken to a Columbia hospital where he died a few days later. Prosecutors allege that Susan forged a document that removed him from life support. She originally faced charges for the death of her father in Boone County but those were dropped when the case was transferred to Camden County. This is the first time any charges have been filed in the death of Sharon Dickson.
