That time of year again when we feel the temperatures cool off and eventually the real cold weather hits and we turn on the furnace for the first time. But have we taken the time to do seasonal safety checks on the furnace? It’s something most Missourians don’t really think about but there are serious consequences to not properly doing yearly maintenance and safety checks. Stage Stafford is assistant Fire Chief with Osage Beach fire protection district and says many miss the silent killer.
He also reminds us that one of the deadliest mistakes we make is not properly using space heaters.
He says seen the consequences first hand.
Chief Stafford reminds everyone that getting a professional heating and cooling inspection of your system can help you avoid the many problems that can creep up on your heating system throughout the year. Always have a heating professional help you start your system if your not sure and monthly check your filter.
