Charges filed in teen death at Truman Lake
Two individuals have been charged in the death of a teen in Benton county last year. 15 year old Khighla Parks’s remains where found in Truman Lake by police. 37 year old Amy Hartley of Buffalo has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child by allowing her to live in an uninhabitable home where methamphetamines where being produced as well has having illegal sex with a teenager while helping to dispose of her body. Among that she’s also facing charges of statutory sodomy, tampering with evidence and abandonment of a corpse. Her boyfriend 48 year old Anthony Balbirnie of Springfield was also charged with second degree murder, statutory rape, child molestation, endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with evidence while the charge of abandonment of a corpse has been dropped from the current charges.
