The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about a dangerous new scam happening across the Ozarks. They say there has been a recent string of yellow signs posted across the area offering a “new job” and “now hiring.” A representative from the Bureau’s office attempted to contact the number on one of the signs and after a lengthy conversation; they were asked to meet at a business park to see if they were interested in selling door to door shampoo. The company claims they are based out of Cleveland Ohio but operate in the Ozarks. The BBB contacted the BBB of Ohio and confirmed that no such business exists. Residents are reminded that when contacting anyone for a job opportunity to verify their place of business and see if they are registered with the Secretary of State before agreeing to meet with the company and report anything you find to be fraud to the BBB’s office immediately.
