The Missouri Department of Transportation announced that Bill HRJ68 was passed by the Missouri General Assembly Wednesday afternoon. The bill imposes a 1% temporary sales tax increase to be used for transportation projects. Area Engineer Bob Lynch says this bill must now be voted on by the public:
They are working with planning partners to determine the best way to use the money for local projects including the Transportation Advisory Committee who has already submitted ideas for lake area roadways. These ideas should be out to the public in June.
