Busy Fourth Weekend For Highway Patrol

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting twelve people died on the state’s roads and waterways over the three day fourth of July weekend, nearly half as many as last year. According to the Highway Patrol, 121 people were injured in traffic accidents with six fatalities while 17 people suffered injuries in boating accidents and six people were killed. Of the six deaths on the water, three were from boating accidents and three from drowning including a Colorado man who drowned Friday night in party cove at the four mile marker of the Grand Glaize Arm. Troopers also arrested 142 people for driving while intoxicated and 13 for boating under the influence.
