Last week Camden County Commissioners Kris Franken and Beverly Thomas met to fix an issue that was originally overlooked when the Camelot sewer district was created but was discovered a few years ago. Apparently 7 homes within the Buckingham estates subdivision were left out of sewer service during the original installation in 2003. Since then officials have been trying to find a way to fix the issue but due to cost of equipment needed, they have been unable to move forward. Now the sewer district is looking at entering into a contract to lease funds no more than $150,000 with a 4.5% interest rate to purchase the necessary equipment and add those existing homes to the system. The project is expected to go our for bid within a week and officials are hoping to have it completed by Labor Day.
