The Captain Larry Don be out on land by the end of the day as the crew from River Diving & Salvage inc. is in the process of raising the historic boat which fell victim to ice and sank back in February. According to Mike Sheppard from Beavers at the dam, the owner of the Larry Don, Crews are using a system called salvage hatches which actually pump air in and push the water out to lift the boat. Several attempts at lifting the vessel by Hart Diving and Salvages proved unsuccessful earlier in the year. River Diving & Salvage began working earlier this morning, and hope to have the vessel out of the water by this evening. Whether or not the boat will be saved or scrapped is still up in the air at this time.
