First Drowning At The Lake of the Ozarks For 2014


A 45 year old Macks Creek man has died after drowning at the Lake of the Ozarks.  According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Steven Owens, who suffered from medical issues, was fishing from a canoe when he fell into the water and was then located face down by a passing fisherman.  Police removed Owens’ body from the water a short time later.  The drowning occurred on the little Niangua arm, downstream from the route “j” bridge.  This is the first reported drowning at the Lake of the Ozarks for 2014.
