Four boating accidents all occurred on Labor Day at the Lake of the Ozarks. According to the Highway Patrol’s Water Division, the first incident occurred at Party Cove where 41 year old Adam Barbee’s 2001 jet boat caught fire in the engine compartment while idling. The second incident occurred at the 8 mile mark of the Workman’s cove where 19 year old Christopher Gonzales drove his PWC over 19 year old Austin Boulch’s PWC, which was idling at the time. Gonzales received moderate injuries. The third incident occurred at the 20 mile mark as 76 year old Gus Montalto hit a large wake in his 1991 Bayliner causing him to fall in the boat and receive minor injuries. And the fourth accident occurred at the 6 mile mark of the Big Niangua as 18 year old Matthew Blackwell was going in circles in his PWC when 18 year old Travis Kuhn hit a wake with his PWC, became airborne and struck Blackwell’s PWC. Neither party was injured in the incident.
