Traffic fatalities were down significantly during the Labor Day weekend. According to statistics released by the State Highway Patrol, there were a total of 239 traffic accidents resulting in three fatalities and 111 injuries. In 2013 there were 8 deaths and 248 crashes on Missouri’s roadways. Troopers also made 80 arrests for D.W.I. compared to 119 last year. On the local level, the Patrol’s Troop “P” reports 5 D.W.I. and 5 B.W.I arrests. The patrol also says there were zero boating fatalities during the three day weekend.
