An Iowa man has drowned after going overboard in the Lake of the Ozarks Saturday night. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Water Division, says 20 year old Brandon Ellingson of Clive, Iowa was being transported for boating while intoxicated when he stood up in the moving vessel, stepped to the edge of the starboard side and then either fell or jumped overboard. The highway patrol’s dive team recovered his body Sunday morning. The drowning occurred in 80 feet of water on the Gravois arm at the 3.5 mile marker on channel 20. The man had been wearing a personal flotation device before he went under.
