Many people are wondering exactly how much time the new roundabout on Nichols Road saves on a trip to the emergency room at Lake Regional. The KRMS Newsroom did an experiment to find out. Starting the time exactly one mile from each exit, we timed how long it took to get to the front door of the emergency room. We learned that taking the Case Road exit takes almost twice as long as the new roundabout and the KK exit takes around one minute and thirty seconds longer. It took roughly two minutes and ten seconds using the Nichols Road exit, three minutes and forty seconds using KK, and four minutes and twenty seconds using the Case Road exit. Because the timing of stoplights is unpredictable, the stopwatch was paused at all red lights.
