Lake Ozark Sets Moratorium On Communications

Cell TowerA moratorium on the building of cell phone towers is now in effect in the city of Lake Ozark. The Board of Alderman met in regular session Tuesday and unanimously passed a bill that establishes a moratorium of up to six months on certain telecommunication facilities. Officials say this will give the city an opportunity to meet the safety requirements that could be prescribed by the state as it considers potential legislation. The city does not expect the moratorium to affect businesses as it would take at least six months to complete the process of putting up a tower.
