Local unemployment numbers are in, and they’re a mixed bag in comparison with the state average. The unemployment rate for Camden County currently stands at 6.2% which is 3/10ths of a percent lower than Missouri’s overall jobless claims. In Miller County the unemployment rate now stands at 6.5% which is the same as the statewide average, while Morgan County is currently a little higher coming in at 6.7%. Laclede County is not doing as well with unemployment figures hovering at 7.9%. Currently the national average is 6.1% which is down 2/10ths of a percent from the previous month.
