LOWA To Host Public Meeting Tuesday

lowaThe Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance is putting together a symposium on what exactly is E-Coli that was highly debated prior to the new law going into effect which no longer requires the closure of our area beaches, but instead allows a sign to be posted indicating it’s not recommended to swim. John G. Schumacher, the chief of hydrologic investigations section with the Missouri water science center and the U.S. Geological survey from Rolla will be presenting information on what e coli is, does and means for the lake community during LOWA’s public meeting next Tuesday at the Tan-Tar-A resort. There are over 100 different types of e coli known to man. Testing of the beaches at the lake the past few months has shown little to no danger to any residents.
