Local reaction continues to come in regarding Governor Jay Nixon’s recent veto of legislation that would’ve defined captive deer as livestock. Mike Huffman is the outreach and education division chief with the Missouri Department of Conservation. He told KRMS news the M.D.C. is very happy with the Governor’s decision.

Governor Nixon says he vetoed the legislation because it violates the Missouri Constitution and goes against longstanding successful conservation practices.
