Mid-Year Spending Bill Has Been Signed By Governor Nixon

A mid-year spending bill has been signed by Governor Jay Nixon.  The supplemental budget signed into law yesterday will move $69-million dollars to the State Medicaid program to offset a shortfall in Missouri’s settlement payments from tobacco companies.  It also includes an additional $3-million dollars to help low income people pay utility bills and $2-million dollars to help an unaccredited St. Louis County School District.  The bill also provides additional funding for public schools and colleges through June 30th to make up for shortfalls in gambling and lottery revenues.
