Classes are officially underway in school districts across the lake area. And when one thinks of school, things such as books, pencils, and tests come to mind. One test that all 11th graders in the state take each year is the A.C.T., and there’s good news to report regarding the test for Missouri students. According to a report, the state raised its composite A.C.T. score to 21.8 after ten years at 21.6. According to the department of elementary and secondary education, the national average is 21. Educators say this is a positive step toward making Missouri one of the top ten states in education by the year 2020.
