Missouri lines up two more executions

Execution Chair

Missouri is continuing what could be a record year for state executions as it prepares for its fifth in five months and the Missouri Supreme Court sets the date for yet another. Jeffrey Ferguson is scheduled to die Wednesday for abducting and killing a teenager in St. Charles County in 1989. His attorneys on filed appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court asking that the execution be delayed until lower courts can decide if a stay should be granted. The Missouri Supreme Court on Friday set April 23rd for the death sentence for William Rousan. Rousan went to trial for the 1993 Murder of 62 year old Grace Lewis and was convicted and sentenced to death. Rousan was one of 21 men on Missouri death row whose executions were on hold after a lawsuit was filed over the compound drugs used in Missouri’s lethal injection process.

I am really glad to see the SUpreme Court handling out execution dates and the DOC, Govenor and Attorney General carrying out the sentences imposed by the courts. It is long overdue. Thanks to all that have made this possible.
