At Thursday night’s meeting of the Osage Beach Board of Aldermen, the main topic of discussion that brought the longest conversation was Nichols road. Now that the Osage Beach Elementary School is starting to get built, people are worried the road may not be able to handle the traffic. The city is addressing this by looking into a second way in and out of the area through a new road between 3 seasons and Nichols road. Public Works Director Nick Edelman says if it were to be approved, it could be a while before it’s built
Edelman says the reason they’re looking at this now isn’t because the road has issues, it was something they wanted to do in the first place
Also discussed was the plan to add additional parking at Peanick park which was slated to get approved to go ahead and hire a contractor to start filling in the property. However, after a brief discussion between Edelman and the Alderman it was decided to cancel that plan and table it for another meeting. The city also approved the plan to purchase new water meters for the city’s water system which will replace older worn out models currently in use.
