After a raid by Laclede County Deputies on a Richland home an alleged methamphetamine manufacturer is behind bars. At around 8:30 Wednesday night, Laclede County Sheriff’s Office Deputies went to a home in the 24000 area of Upton Drive to make contact with Allen Dale Bennett, who was wanted on an active warrant, and to also check on reported illegal drug possession and manufacturing. When the deputies arrived, they reported immediately noticing a moderate chemical odor that became a strong odor when the door was opened by Bennett. A deputy also reported seeing a clear plastic bottle containing a clear liquid substance inside lying on the floor about 10 feet from the door. The Laclede County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged the 56 year old Bennett with a Class B felony of manufacturing a controlled substance and three Class C felonies of unlawful possession of a firearm. He is being held in the Laclede County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
