There will soon be a statewide recount of the Constitutional Amendment One known as “Right to Farm” that narrowly passed earlier this month. Missouri law allows a recount whenever the margin of victory is less than one half of a percentage point. Two opponents of the measure have already asked for a recount, one of which is Wes Shoemyer, a former Democratic State Senator who is President of Missouri’s food for America. However, he’s not aware of any election problems that would reverse the result, but feels it’s worth a try. The Right to Farm Amendment was a approved by voters on August 5th by fewer than 2,500 votes out of nearly one million cast.
